Early color/tone exploration for Ghost of Yotei

The main goal of this artwork is to show how the past and present can exist within the same space while still feeling visually distinct through different tones and narratives.
In the past scenes, I wanted to capture a time that felt beautiful and untouched—moments without the wounds that came later.
In the present, those memories remain, but only as traces buried under the aftermath of those wounds.

Even though the past carries sadness, I didn’t want that sadness to appear dark or heavy. The focus was on preserving its beauty, even within the melancholy.
